What is Where Many Were
Where Many Were is a fast-playing set of big battle rules for the American Civil War that fits on just two pages.
Each base/element represents one battalion or regiment, and while they’re centred in the combat rules, command and control relies on divisional, corps, and army generals successfully manoeuvring their brigades. This lets brave & lucky units shine – as they did historically – while players grapple with the difficulty of commanding armies far larger & better-armed than their inherited staff systems were prepared for – as generals did historically!
The game features:
Central “poker dice” mechanic keeps a Western flavour to all resolution.
