Stratego by Jumbo is the most well-known of this type of hidden tactics board games. It was launched just after World War II in 1946 and has led to a variety of various themed versions and spinoff variations.
This game is very similar to, and almost certainly derived directly from, the Gibsons game L'Attaque who had acquired the UK rights in 1925 from the game’s creator Mademoiselle Hermance Edan who launched it in France in 1909. It is not exactly the same, but not far from it (numbered pieces, spy (same name) can kill the strongest piece but only when attacking, flag, bombs, etc.) The game in turn likely drew on various ancient Chinese board games such as Lu Zhan Jun Qi or the classic children's game Jungle.

Un clasicazo que, de vez en cuando, sigue apeteciendo jugar. Sencillo y elegante.
La Gran Batalla... asi lo conoci la primera vez, basico, pero entretenido.
Un juego de los clásicos de todos los tiempos. Cada jugador dispone de un ejército de idéntica composición y el objetivo es capturar la bandera enemiga. Para ello hay que ir eliminando fichas, en las que un militar de mayor rango siempre elimina a uno de rango inferior. Si ambos se enfrentan y son de igual rango, ambos son eliminados. Muy sencillo, familiar. Partidas de duración corta. Aproximadamente media hora. Es uno de esos juegos que conoces de toda la vida, de tu más tierna infancia.
Un juego para dos jugadores bien logrado, su mecánica me recuerda mucho al "ajedrez a escondidas" Es un buen juego para dos.

Esp) Tengo la edición argentina editada por la editorial Yetem y que lleva el nombre de "Combate en el Frente" . De chico me dió horas y horas de combate con mí hermano Luciano. Le tengo mucho aprecio
Un clásico de mi infancia, aunque este ejemplar es la versión de Jumbo portátil y no el primero que tuve
Juego de estrategia para 2 tipo ajedrez de 40 fichas, contra 40, de diferentes rangos, en los que el superior mata al inferior, junto con algunos que tienen habilidades especiales. Objetivo, encontrar la bandera del contrario. Todo un clásico re-descubierto.
