Rune Age is a deck-building game of adventure and conquest for 1-4 players. (The box says 2-4 players, but 2 of the 4 scenarios include solitaire rules.)
Set in the fantasy realm of Terrinoth (Runebound, Descent: Journeys in the Dark, Runewars, and DungeonQuest), Rune Age puts players in control of one of four races, vying for dominance in a world embroiled in conflict.
Designed by Corey Konieczka, Rune Age is a unique deck-building game that centers around scenarios. The four different scenarios included in Rune Age present alternate win conditions for players, from an all-out war to determine the victor to a cooperative game experience where players all win or lose together. Scenarios not only dictate the win conditions, they also determine which card types will populate Terrinoth (forming the central card pools) and which Event cards will form the Event deck. The Event deck contains thematic challenges, enemies, and happenings that are tied to the chosen scenario, creating a new play environment each turn.

Es un juego de construcción de Mazo, tipo dominion, pero ambientado en el universo de Rune wars, y mucho más temático, desde luego. De 1 a 4 jugadores. Cada Raza tiene sus propias características, aunque las unidades son básicamente las mismas. Se juega por escenarios, para los cuales, hay que cumplir un objetivo. El juego es semi-cooperativo. Todos luchan por ser el primero en cumplir el objetivo, pero también puedes atacar a otro jugador, si va demasiado bien, por ejemplo. Está entretenido.

Es un juego asimétrico basado en cuatro escenarios distintos con la mecánica de los Deck Building Games (DBG) en el que las condiciones de victoria cambian en función del escenario (desde "el último que quede vivo, gana" a "tenemos que matar al jefe enemigo entre todos"). Como principal atractivo está su mejor punto fuerte: que hay interacción con el contrario. Además, añade gestión de recursos y gestión de la mano, al haber 3 recursos distintos en el juego: dinero, que sirve para construir unidades que te dan fuerza, que te permite conquistar ciudades que te dan el tercer recurso: influencia
De formar mazo tipo Dominion quiza con menos combos, pero con más opciciones de tipos de juego y más interacción (que es lo que no me gusta del Dominion, el plan autista). Subimos de 8,2 a 8,5. Está bastante curioso, pero llevo pocas partidas, para saber si es bastante rejugable. Probada expansión.

Esta bien diseñado y parece equilibrado a pesar de ser asimétrico. Se vive la historia en cada escenario. FFG lo ha vuelto a conseguir. Con una temática que tiene en exclusiva y la mecánica de moda en la actualidad, le da una vuelta de tuerca mejorando el sistema, añadiendo cositas que mejora las sensaciones de juego. El arte gráfico a las cartas simplemente impresionante y hace que se vivamos una magnifica aven
