Riverboat posits each player as the owner of a 19th century farm on the bank of the Mississippi River. You need to organize your workers to ensure that the fields are ordered according to their type and harvested when ready so that the goods can be shipped to New Orleans.
In more detail, the game lasts four rounds, and at the start of each round players draft phase cards until they're all distributed. The phases then take place in numerical order, with the player who chose a phase being the first one to act. In the first phase, players place their workers in the fields, with each player having the same distribution of colored field tiles, but a different random placement for each player. In phase two, players organize their crops, trying to group like types together, with some fields requiring two or three workers. In phase three, players harvest crops and load riverboats, with a dock needing to be filled with all the goods of a single type before it can be loaded. In phase four, the boats are launched and players can take special actions, with additional victory points possibly coming in phase five.

Opened and punched, but not played.
Very euro. It has some nice ideas, but to be honest, there is a bit of disconnection between the different elements of the game. The action selection mechanism is nice (you select the action in which you want to be the first player), and there is a nice strategy in choosing the tiles and getting your workers back to select the ships... but there is no general feeling. Still, I enjoyed and liked the game.

Se trata de un eurogame medio de colocación de losetas y selección de acciones que ha pasado desapercibido injustamente, ya que considero que es divertido y disfrutable. Es feo a rabiar y la temática es muy olvidable, pero es lo único negativo que le veo al juego. Es exigente en cuanto a establecer un plan de partida ya que son pocas acciones las que te van a dar puntos y no puedes tomártelas a la ligera, hay que lograr cuadrar las cosechas con los barcos sin que los rivales te molesten demasiado. Quizá haya algunas acciones más fuertes que otras, pero ahí está la mecánica de draft de accion
Muy buen juego, es sencillo pero muy extratégico.

Ser el primero de cada fase tiene mucha importancia y es lo que tienes que evaluar con anticipación durante las 4 rondas que tiene el juego.
