What is Faraway
Welcome to Alula, a mysterious continent with ever-changing geography, shaped after the rhythm of the seasons. Beyond the Sea of Mists lies the mysterious continent of Alula. Roam across the land in search of its secrets, meet its inhabitants, and list its wonders in order to gain more fame than your opponents.
Throughout a game of Faraway, you will play a row of 8 cards in front of you, from left to right. These cards represent the regions you will come across while exploring the lands. Characters on these cards will grant you victory points if you later fulfill the conditions they demand. At the end of the game, you walk back the same way, scoring cards in the opposite order you played them. There lies the heart of the gameplay. Throughout the game, the cards you play will serve both to set new objectives, and to meet the ones you played previously.
Each turn, you play a card from a hand of 3. Then you pick a new card from a face-up river. As play is simultaneous in Faraway, you must take into account a clever priority system in all of your choices – being last to pick a card leaves you with fewer options and often less profitable choices for the next turns.

De los mejores fillers que he probado. Es adictivo y sesudo dentro de su rango. El azar está bien medido para que las partidas acaben ajustadas. Es original puntuar en orden contrario a la colocación de las cartas. Las ilustraciones son llamativas. El tema ni está ni se le espera.
Juego sencillo con una mecánica peculiar. Pensar qué cartas jugar sabiendo que se puntuarán en sentido inverso no siempre es tan fácil como suena en tu cabeza. Retador, corto, satisfactorio de jugar y con un arte muy característico.

Interesante mecánica y muy divertido para pensar en la puntuación de tus cartas, pero me da la sensación que aunque tengas 3 cartas siempre vas a mantener casi siempre dos del inicio porque no las ves rentables de jugar.
Cuando un juego sale de lo común, es extraño y llama la atención. Y es lo que pasa cuando juegas por primera vez Faraway. Una mecánica sencilla de entender pero tan diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados en juegos de mesa. Es normal que al final de la primera vez jugando se diga "okey, ahora entiendo". Consta de 8 rápidas rondas en las que debes pensar y gestionar mentalmente un mini árbol de decisiones que tienen un impacto indirecto al puntaje, indirecto de momento, todo se esclarece al final de la partida.
