Battle Line
Two opponents face off across a 'battle line' and attempt to win the battle by taking 5 of 9 flags or 3 adjacent flags. Flags are decided by placing cards into 3 card poker-type hands on either side of the flag (similar to straight flush, 3 of a kind, straight, flush, etc). The side with the highest 'formation' of cards wins the flag.
What is Battle Line
Two opponents face off across a 'battle line' and attempt to win the battle by taking 5 of 9 flags or 3 adjacent flags. Flags are decided by placing cards into 3 card poker-type hands on either side of the flag (similar to straight flush, 3 of a kind, straight, flush, etc). The side with the highest 'formation' of cards wins the flag.
This is a rethemed version of Schotten Totten with different graphics and wooden flag bits in place of the boundary stone cards. Game play is identical, except the cards run from 1 to 10 (not 9), you hold seven cards in your hand (not 6), and the rule that stones may only be claimed at the start of your turn is presented as an "advanced variant". Also the tactics cards were introduced by Battle Line; these cards were only added to later editions of Schotten-Totten.
Some have reported that the production quality of the cards is inferior to the Schotten Totten cards, however, for most readers Battle Line will be much easier to find in stores. In the second edition of GMT's Battle Line the card quality is higher.

Comprado a AlvaroH en el BdC el 18/06/2010 por 10€ De momento, es dificil de valorar, porque solo he jugado una partida y con Gema (que no le gustó). A mí me parece que el juego está bien. Es sencillo de jugar y explicar y tiene bastante estrategia. Recomendable. A la espera de tener más experiencia, para precisar mejor mi puntuación. Vendido en la bsk a fermanowar en octubre 2014 por 10€

A very good game. What seems to be a very simplistic game similar to poker is really a game full of strategy and difficult decisions, in the Knizia style. My favourite not-heavy 2-player game. Muy bueno. Lo que en un principio parece un juego sencillo, vas viendo que tiene mucha estrategia...vamos, del estilo de Knizia.
Cada jugador debe situar 9 formaciones de 3 cartas a lo largo de una línea de batalla (Battle Line). Cada formación está opuesta a la del contrario y el resultado depende de la fuerza de esta formación, que viene ordenada en una jerarquía similar a la del poker (escalera de color> poker> color> escalera> tres cartas cualesquiera). Ganará el jugador que tenga 3 formaciones ganadoras seguidas o 5 no contiguas. Todo esto jugado con un mazo de 60 cartas de 6 colores numeradas del 1-10 + 10 cartas de tácticas que alteran las formaciones de alguna manera especial. PROS Elementos en común con el Poke
