Flows nicely once you figure out from where you get what you need and what is important in the board. Blood Rage meets Knizia. The controversial merge and player elimination mechanics do not bother me at all, the merge changes communication and strategies at the table if players take it seriously.

One of my favorite dudes on map games. It scales really well, the game is really strategic, tactical and gives you a chess-like feel to it, always looking at what your opponents are doing. The timing mechanic to activate events is great, sometimes you would rather do an action you don't want to take but if it helps you activate an event you need, you take it. There are a couple of scenarios for each player count, 5 factions in the base game, so it has a good replay value. Setup time is rather quick (for a dudes on a map game that is), with the help of containers and if all players help.

In my personal point of view it's the more strategic game of the trilogy and yet it's the more simple one to explain, love the action selection system and the battle system!! Just an awesome game!!!

It would be a 9 as a two-player game. Will rate again after more multiplayer games.

The best of the trilogy and a fantastic take on the genre. In this highly strategic area control game there is no room for randomness, you will have to plan your actions very carefuly as well as anticipate the plans of your rivals if you want to succeed. This is not a game about fighting, this is a game about positioning and movement. It's closer to chess than to a dudes on a map game. But this is not just a boring and dry brain burner, it packs enough twists and tension to make it really fun. It also plays faster than it looks, it's a shame that the set up and tear down takes too long beca
