What is Pax Penning
Take on the role of small kings, local chieftains, and wealthy peasants who have been invited by the first Christian king of Sweden to participate in his nationbuilding. He has participated in the Danelaw, and saw how the Brits created a strong centralized kingdom, and the role currency played in that. He wants to do the same, but he can't do it without the help of the local movers and shakers: you.
This would severely limit your strength, but perhaps you would be stronger united. Perhaps you didn't have much strength to begin with, and this is your opportunity to carve a place for your family in the new kingdom of the Swedes. Perhaps you can just marry your way into power, and secure your future that way.
Either way, the world is changing. The end of the Viking age is here, and you better not get left behind.

Juego ambientando en la transición de clanes vikingos en suecia hacia una monarquía. Juego bastante abstracto, con un mercado de acciones y unas piedras que simbolizan la influencia de unos jugadores sobre otros. Es llamativa la posibilidad de robar la victoria a un ganador e incluso de encadenar robos en cascada. Se dispara el final de la partida en el tercer concilio del rey, o cuando se bloquean todos los caminos del tablero (que es una bolsa de tela que sirve para guardar el juego). Es artesano. Está diseñado por una dentista sueca. Lo conocí por Max en Mayo 2024. Es una rareza.
A truly remarkable Pax experience. It's a bit hard to understand during the first game, but once you get it, the game flows really well. There's real tension when the king approaches Sigtuna, you're never sure who might win with the Heir victory, since there are different victory conditions, but the Heir always changes the game. Conversations unfold and suspicions arise, but in the end, everything comes as a surprise.
