About the game

What is The Age of War

The Sengoku Jidai - "age of warring states" - was a period of almost constant civil war in Japan from around 1467 to 1615 AD, during which warlords, or daimyo, vied for control of the archipelago.

Whether you want to recreate a small clash between warbands or a large pitched battle, this rulebook will provide you with all the tools to relive the atmosphere and flavour of the period, reconstructing the Dynamics and tactics of armies very distant from the Western way of conducting war.

These rules will allow you to lead the different factions of the time into battle, or to create your own clan to become the new Shogun of Japan!

Inside you will find lists for Samurai (14 different clans), Sohei, Ikko Ikki, minor factions such as Ronin and Wokou Pirates and finally those of external enemies such as the Chinese and Koreans.
