What is Rule the Roost
When Farmer Finnigan leaves for his first vacation in years, the animals decide it’s finally their turn to take charge. The problem? No one agrees on how the farm should be run. In Rule the Roost, players take on the roles of ambitious animal leaders vying for power, each with their own vision for the future. Cooperation, sabotage, and manipulation collide as the barnyard descends into a battle of wits and influence.
Each round, a new event challenges the Farm Council—should the animals build a larger barn, fight off predators, or trade with neighboring farms? Players debate, negotiate, and then secretly vote on how to respond. Behind every decision lies strategy: build up your resources, forge alliances, and use cunning Attack or Special cards to shift the balance of power.
Every choice matters. Players must balance their public alliances with private motives, deciding when to defend their interests and when to strike at others. With every round, the tension grows as votes are swayed, resources are stolen, and trust evaporates in the hay-filled halls of power.
The first player to win three Event Cards claims control of the farm and becomes its undisputed leader—proving that in the end, only one can truly Rule the Roost.
