What is Fright Fights: Night of the Living Dead

They're coming to get you! In Fright Fights: Night of the Living Dead, The Living face The Dead in a head-to-head battle to the death drawn from the classic 1968 zombie film.

Each player has a character card, their character's deck, and a hand of four cards. Every round, both players choose a card face-down, then reveal simultaneously, with the priority player acting first. Attack cards require a six-sided die roll to hit; Defense cards block incoming damage; Versatile cards let you wait until your turn to decide whether to attack or defend; and Special cards provide instant effects or ongoing equipment. A natural 6 is a critical hit that cannot be blocked. Health is tracked on a ten-sided die, and the first player to reduce their opponent to 0 health wins.

The sides play asymmetrically: The Living board up and stockpile — many of their cards grow stronger with Equip cards in play — while The Dead command a Shambling Horde whose bite grows deadlier the more damage it takes. Wound the horde and it only becomes hungrier. All Fright Fights games are cross-compatible — any character can fight any character from another set — and a 2-vs-2 team mode brings the fight to four players. (The game plays with exactly two or four players; there is no three-player mode.)
