The base game now features mechanics formally restricted to expansions, plus more chapters, more items, and more bosses than 1st edition.
Items of equipment and armor steadily degrade as you them.
Stamina is a new luck-mitigating resource each player must manage, spending it freely to re-roll or dodge damage, and restoring it by resting.
