What is Croterra

Croterra is a competitive strategy board game for 1-6 players, set in a dark medieval realm where rival Kingdoms, each with unique strengths, battle for dominance over the last chance for survival—control over the mysteriously emergent land of Croterra. At its core, the game features a distinct resource system, where each resource behaves differently. Gold accrues interest over time, Arcanic Cores are not discarded when used but are far more difficult to obtain, and Prayers may summon divine intervention—though not always from the benevolent power one intended to call upon.

The rise of Arcanic power has reshaped the realm, feared by some as something not of this world, while others claim it is—but from an age yet to come. Harnessing this awesome force, alongside divine blessings and military power, is key to any Kingdom’s survival. At the end of the game, a player's Final Score is determined by multiplying their Arcanic, Personnel, and Divinity points, making every decision in balancing these aspects critical to victory. Without progress in all three, a kingdom will find itself powerless, unable to compete, and ultimately doomed.

Throughout the game, players must balance future resource generation, seizing tactical opportunities, reacting to events and keeping an eye on dangerous opponents who's strategies may not be what they appear. Progress Cards provide unpredictable yet powerful advantages, while Bolsters offer costly yet reliable boosts to resource production and scoring. Meanwhile, Divinity Cards introduce celestial forces that can reshape the very fabric of the game. Take Avarice, for example—a divine boon that turns every resource you or your opponents touch into Gold. Will you embrace this "gift," or bestow it upon your enemies?
