Battle Captains is an innovative game placing the players in the command experience of a company commander in a combined arms maneuver environment.
The main book provides the core rules to fight any battle from the dawn of mechanisation in WWII to the networked battlefields of the 21st century. The rule book only contains two example forces from WWII with which to test the mechanisms.
Gameplay in Battle Captains embraces the concepts of friction, fog of war, and maneuver warfare. Players should expect to confront difficulties from not just their opponent but circumstances as well. The ability to adapt to a changing environment, subordinates failing to exercise good judgement, and all the other vagaries of war is paramount to victory in Battle Captains.
