5-Minute One Piece
5-Minute One Piece is a real-time co-operative game where players assemble a pirate crew and race to finish an island adventure before time runs out. Inspired by the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece, 5-Minute One Piece is a reimplementation of 5-Minute Dungeon: players work together to match symbols with cards in their hand like in 5-Minute Dungeon, but have the additional challenge of matching sequence by slotting cards onto the Going Merry game board.
What is 5-Minute One Piece
5-Minute One Piece is a real-time co-operative game where players assemble a pirate crew and race to finish an island adventure before time runs out. Inspired by the Netflix live-action adaptation of One Piece, 5-Minute One Piece is a reimplementation of 5-Minute Dungeon: players work together to match symbols with cards in their hand like in 5-Minute Dungeon, but have the additional challenge of matching sequence by slotting cards onto the Going Merry game board.
In detail: The group chooses one of five Adventure Decks to face together, then each player picks a Straw Hat character card (Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper) and their unique deck for themselves. Once the timer starts, players reveal the top card from the Adventure Deck which may show an enemy, event or ally. Defeating enemies (which may have their own passive abilities) is accomplished by clearing Challenge Cards, which are all 4-symbol sequences. Players play cards in real-time onto the Going Merry game board until the sequence of cards played match the sequence of symbols on the Challenge Card. Once enough Challenge Cards have been matched in this way, the Adventure Card is complete and can be replaced with the next one.
5-Minute One Piece is designed to be playable for all ages: while players have a variety of character abilities and special symbol card actions to get out of tight spots and succeed on high difficulty modes, teams of newcomers can still win using just the symbol-matching gameplay if they prefer. Higher difficulty modes add cumulative time pressure and incentive to utilize special abilities for players seeking a challenge.
