About the game

What is 2026: A Monolith's Retrospective Solitaire

Mono:Solo, for short, is a solitaire card game of survival, trust, and redemption at the eleventh-hour.

You are Commander Dave Bowman aboard Stanley Kubrick's legendary Discovery One and the last conscious crew member on a ship bound for Jupiter's moon, Io. Your onboard computer, HAL 9000, just killed a crew member, while you watched helplessly, and you disconnected HAL to survive. Now HAL is running on 1968 base code, and corrupted firmware patches from Earth are your only hope of rebuilding him into something you can trust with your life. You need HAL operational. Because something ancient is already aboard your ship, and it's been infecting HAL's logic to get to you, to become its golden specimen.

You only have twelve turns to escape the Monolith’s invisible traps—where the ship’s location cards conceal mission-critical tasks and hidden objects, while upgrading HAL, and hunting for the Monolith’s secrets before it finds you and literally, seals your fate, seven ways from Sunday.

One question: can you ever again trust the HAL 9000 you had to destroy, to save yourself?
